Public RelationsTrivia Night Success!Roseanne Gallo, 06/04/2009
congratulations to a great evening on saturday night! the atmosphere was electric with Greg Jenkins as our wonderful MC, Margaret Lee assisting on the night & offering Minimbah as the perfect venue, Paul Williamson on Tally room duties and (I still can't get your version of "Quando Quando' out of my head) Leo doing the Gold Coin toss duties and runner, Kim organising table activities and other valuable help. The Sub Comiittee ought to be congratulated! on the preparation of this wonderful evening. We raised $3,300.00 after expenses, which has sealed the deal on our half for the cost of the transport vehicle for Macquarie Hospital. The recipients were there with 2 full tables of enthusiatic trivia participants. The general feedback I got from emails, was "when are we doing our next one" as it was absolutely well organised event & also alot of laughs. If anyone wants to see Paul's rendition of "quando quando" the video skit is on the web, not to be missed!! ...

Local Boy needing urgent Bone Marrrow tissue matchRoseanne Gallo, 13/10/2008
At last thursdays board meeting, I mentioned to the Club about a local 18 year old boy, name is Jimmy Sfeir, who attends Holy Cross College is suffering from Leukemia and is in need of an urgent bone marrow tissue transplant. The Red Cross have been trying to get a blood bank bus sooner in the Ryde area, but is finding it hard to get one. The nearest one will be at Macquarie University at the Atrium from the 5th - 7th November. The Weekly Times & Northern District Times will be posting an article in this weeks paper calling for all people between the ages of 18-50 to donate blood and be registered on the Bone Marrow Tissue Typing list, in the hope that a person with the same match as Jimmy will be found. This will also help other patients with the same condition.
