District Assembly General, 07/05/2007
Sunday 6 May say eight keen future and present MPRC board members wandering the corridors of UTS Kuring-gai campus attending the training sessions for 2007/08 incoming Board members. Deidre, Roseanne, Kim, Paul, Ka Kin, Bill, Ross and John all presented themselves for what turned out as a full and interesting day. Over 500 members attended representing the 38 existing clubs of District 9680 or about 25% of all members.
Presentations were made by DG Pam Pritchard and several assistant DGE's on topics as wide ranging as The Club Leadership Plan - very important as we have elected to adopt the new structure; Membership - where we gained mention as the sole new club but also the club with the lowest meeting attendance record (48%!); Working Together; RI International Theme – ‘Rotary Shares’; and Lessons learned from Geese - you had to be there. After the morning Plenary sessions the MPRC team scattered to the various workshops; Presidents - Deidre took this role on behalf of the still disabled Shayne; Treasures (Bill); Club Service – incorporating administration, pr and membership (Ross and John); Community Service (Roseanne); Vocational Service (Kim); International Service (Ka Kin); and Youth (Paul). Well at least that's where I think they ended up. The day finished at 5pm with drinks but by that time the weary eight had called it a day. However the training should see our new club conforming better to the protocol, administration and project requirements of Rotary as we develop our plans for 07/08. Well done team. |
