How the Rotary year flies!
President's Piece, 18/04/2010
Hello again Members and Friends of Rotary,
I cannot believe we are in our 3rd week of April, and that we are already discussing change over nights for the year 2010/2011!. The baton will be passed on to Ross Rocca in June as he has his team ready and going for a great year at Macquarie Park for 2010/2011. Some of us attended the District Assembly on Saturday, this will be the team under Ross's Presidency, and it was wonderful to also see good friend George Papallo speaking about his coming year as District Governor. The conference will be held in Canberra on the weekend of 18th, 19th, 20th of March 2011. The Rotary theme for 2010/2011 will be "Building Communities, Bridging Continents". Please see photo below of George Papallo speaking as incoming District Governor and also part of our team for 2010/2011.
Some more news on Kenneth (ROMAC boy), he had to have minor surgery last week on his mouth and will be staying here another 2 weeks at Dunmore Lang College, if anyone can take them to Westmead for Doctors appointment and on a outing, please contact Rob Wilkinson at the North Ryde Rotary Club or contact myself.
Our Club will be holding the Vocational Service awards, if there is an employer or someone who you feel should be nominated for their great service and dedication in the workplace who would not normally get recognized and you feel they deserve some recogniition, please contact Mihai Coustache our Vocational Director at our Club.
We will be holding a special breakfast presentation awards morning for our recipients, date to be advised.
On Saturday May 29th we will be holding a Trivia Night to raise money for a local Community project. Please keep this date free. This will be held at St Anthony's Hall Marsfield.
This tuesday we are having an onsite meeting at Macquarie University at the Ancient Cultures. This should be an interesting morning to see what remarkable museums we have right here at Macquarie University. Please bring up this link to get directions to find the Museam
We will all see you at the Museum on Tuesday for breakfast (which will be supplied by
